Mechanical & Electrical Contractor: RBI 
The remit for this project was to design, supply,
Test and Commission both the Electrical and the Mechanical &
Plumbing services for the business units.
The design element of this incorporated the production of internal
and external CAD drawings for units 1 & 3-9, including details
of works and complete production information.
Mechanical
The installation required heating by electric panel
heaters or gas fired central heating, supplied by gas pipework,
giving local control to each indoor unit.
All the heating in the office space was supplied by installed radiators
heated from the central plant.
The domestic water services, including sanitaryware
was provided as were both the electric water heaters and the BS
5810 compatible and approved Document Part M disabled toilet facilities.
Electrical
A 3 phase power supply was brought in to the units
for mains electrical supply.
All office and reception areas were wired with 3 compartment PVC
trunking with 1 no double socket every 3metres. Lighting was installed
both internally and externally to comply with current regulations
and design specification.
All external floodlighting was provided off building with movement
sensors and manual overrides.
A Local Authority BS 5839 zoned fire alarm system
was installed as was a comprehensive lightning protection system
adhering to BS 6651 regulations.
The alarm system was fitted with break glass points and sounders.
The alarm control panel was installed with the provision for additional
zones to be linked at a later date.
All Operation & Maintenance manuals were
provided to Main contractor and client.
